Do Emotions Differ Across Cultures?

Recall a time when you watched an international movie (a movie that your country's cinema did not produce) that touched you deeply. It may have felt like you were experiencing everything that the character was going through. In fact, with every emotion the character felt, something also stirred inside you. On the surface, you might believe that the emotion you felt was the same as your character felt; you both experienced 'happiness' (or any other emotion) in the same way. But is that really true? Do people from another corner of the world feel the same emotions as you? Would their happiness feel the same as your happiness?
