When our political beliefs are challenged, we often give very personal responses. This article explores how political ideologies are related to personal choices and behaviours and how they influence each other. Further, it also looks at polarisation as a result of the intertwining of the personal and the political.

Stories are often used only as an activity during breaks between teaching lessons or as a means of entertainment. However, they have the potential to be powerful teaching tools. They make content accessible and engaging and can be utilised across a range of subjects. The efficacy of story pedagogy is supported by neuroscience as well as psychological theories. Integrating stories into the teaching- learning process is a step in the direction of creating critical and active learners.
