Freedom of press is a contentious issue in today’s times. How formal and informal means of media represent facts, opinions, and data influence the public’s knowledge about the same. And when such media is controlled and dictated by a few, such knowledge can be grossly skewed.

Over the years, financial institutions have made credit available to individuals and enterprises based on hard coded credit bureau reports. However, at the cost of averting risks of bad loans, banks have often denied credit to first-time and thin file borrowers. This article articulates how alternate credit score is attempting to filling this gap albeit with some overarching concerns.
