Monk Prayogshala Blog Writing Code

  1. Select interesting, recent topics within any realm of social, applied, physical, or natural science in discussion with the team.

  2. The blog should be between 750 to 1000 words long, with a coherent, logical structure and clarity of thought.

  3. Base the blog on academic studies in the recent past – ideally the past couple of years.

  4. Add a catchy title to the blog. The title should not exceed 7-10 words.

  5. Hyperlink sources to words or phrases in the blog (see previous blogs for examples). It is the sole responsibility of the author to ensure that sources are relevant, credible, and authoritative for the claim that is being made. Do not add a separate references section.

  6. Write a short excerpt of about 50 – 80 words introducing/summarizing the blog.

  7. Attach a relevant picture that goes along. It should look good in landscape view and should be labelled for reuse. (Google Images > Search the relevant phrase> Tools > Usage Rights > Labelled for reuse).

  8. Send us a Google Document version with the filename structured as FirstName-LastName_Theme.docx (e.g., if your name is Anamika Shah, and you are writing about research ethics, you would name your file “Anamika-Shah_Research-Ethics.docx”).

  9. The edited version of the blog would be sent to you through Google Drive. Make the necessary changes on the same document and share it with us. Do not send a fresh document. If you cannot access Google Drive, name the document with version number (e.g., “Anamika-Shah_Research-Ethics_v2.docx”.

  10. Our blog is updated on Mondays. Once finalized and published, the blog will be promoted on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Mention your handle or ID to be tagged in these posts and share them when they are online.
